We were the first to say it , that Aquaman will touch a billion dollars at the box office world wide and as of now the film is on course to doing 950 million at the world wide box office.
The film has passed 750 million world wide as on this morning . In north America too the film has done exceptionally well in week 2 . Trend track had projected a 50 million second frame and the film over indexed it by 1.7 million.
However our projections beat other analytics by 15 million and more. as everyone saw the second weekend coming in at 35 million .
China has been a major factor in bringing the numbers huge as it collected $251.4M (RMB 1.7B) with another month of extended play ahead the film will end it’s china run with 300 million at the domestic BO.
The film is on it’s final roll out and has taken the number 1 spot in most of it’s recently opened markets .
Australia, had a $2.1 M this Friday from 635 screens with a domestic total of $7.2M. France made $1.34M on Friday, maintaining No. 1 in the 2nd weekend with a total of $12.2M.
Germany made $9.6M running total.
The Top 10 markets through Friday are: China ($251.4M), Brazil ($21.5M), Mexico ($20M), Korea ($19.5M), the UK ($16.1M), Indonesia ($14.5M), Russia ($14.2M), France ($12.2M), Taiwan ($10.4M) and Germany ($9.6M).
In India too Aquaman has performed Excellently well and will end it’s life time business in around 9 million. The amazing thing is that the film opened in English and the local Hindi language and both Languages performed equally well..
In terms of valuation Warner needs to still catch up to it’s competitors Disney who are , up 35 percent for 2018 and Comcast Corp.’s Universal Pictures, up 19 percent.
However the success of Aquaman and wonder women have shown that Warner has found it’s baring and we will see a sharp rise in it’s value in the coming year.
