When it was prophesied that women would one day rule the world, who would have imagined they meant the silver screen!
Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins, has become a symbol of strength for women across the country.
Jenkins is returning to the director’s chair to lead the second film in the franchise that she was so instrumental in starting. No one expected Wonder Woman to be such a supersonic success, it opened to a collections of $103.2M and went on to gross close to $800M worldwide for Warner Bros. Jenkins has refueled the strength of DC movies and the studio.
Last month at Comic-Con, the studio confirmed both a sequel with Wonder Woman and the star Gal Gadot. A release in December 2019 was also confirmed. However, curiously, there was no deal with Jenkins. The delay was due to the pay scale. Jenkins expects to be paid substantially more or equally as a male director would receive after such a box office coup. The deal is still being finalized, this would then make her as the highest-paid female director in town.
