The reboot of Tomb Raider is opening to big numbers both domestically and internationally. In it’s second week the film has opened in 65 markets and has put together 85 million . 49% of that came from China where the film did 41.1 million opening which was the same as Patty Jenkins wonder women.
The film now stands strong at a 127 million world wide. It’s also the No. 1 title across Europe and Latin America, beating other female centered action flicks like Red Sparrow, Divergent, Salt and Ghost In The Shell.
The film has made smashing numbers in other Asian markets too where it is set to pull in numbers and exit before the Yagers enter cinema’s on the 23rd with Pacific rim uprising.
Tomb raider is now on it’s way to doing 200 million plus world wide , pretty fantastic for a reboot with not a very known actor.
