For those of you who don’t know who M J Bassett is , the extremely talented British Director has directed the Suer Successful BBC Action Series Strike Back along with episodes for Power, Da Vinci’s Demons, Ash vs. Evil Dead, and Iron Fist.
The film will star Aml Ameen , Aml Has been a part of Shows like Sense 8 and Movies Like Maze Runner. The film is a follow up of the 2006 film that Starred The Equalizer Denzel Washington .
The original was about a A tough detective (Denzel Washington) matches wits with a cunning bank robber (Clive Owen), as a tense hostage crisis is unfolding. Into the volatile situation comes a woman named Madaline (Jodie Foster), a mysterious power broker who has a hidden agenda and threatens to push a tense situation past the breaking point.
The Sequel is about The U.S. Federal Reserve being robbed by a highly organized and cleverly orchestrated team of crooks. With dozens of tourists held hostage during a 10-hour siege, an NYPD hostage negotiator (Ameen) and a federal agent join forces to rescue the hostages and foil the heist.
The film which is presented by Universal will open on digital and we hear netflix has payed big bucks to have it on it’s Streaming platform first.
MJ Bassett is known to bring good scale Action to small budget projects and we expect no less from her directing this amazing sequel.
