Little did one know that Kazakhstan had a film industry and even further little did one know that the film industry could produce an Action film and that also on the scale of Tomiris.
Tomiris is a commercial movie about Queen Tomiris. This historical drama is about the ruler of the Massagetae in the sixth century B.C.
The plot is based on material from Herodotus and It tells how Tomiris led her nomadic people to victory over Cyrus the Great of the Achaemenid Empire when he invaded her land.
Almira Tursyn Stars as the lead Queen Tomiris Adil Akhmetov as Adil Akhmetov and the film aslo stars Murat Bisenbin as Spargap, Tomiris’s son and general.
The movie’s director is Akan Satayev whom is well known in the Kazakh film industry. The historical drama was filmed based on order of the Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Sports.
The film is dubbed in Russian and Kazakh.
The film has been picked up for a north America Release and should hit theaters in Feburary 2020. The film has good scale and will cater to the a select audience.
