Jason Statham returns as the Mechanic , will he be able to Fix his Solo box office Status, lets find out. 5 years Ago Statham teamed up with Ben Foster to come together in the re hashed version of Charlies Bronson’s Mechanic. The film Surpassed everyone’s expectation and went on to gain a cult status. Since the Flavor of remakes is on in full swing in all Entertainment Markets , the Mechanic is back again.
Arthur Bishop (Statham) has now quit his job as a contract killer and has settled in Brazil living under another Identity, however faith has different plans for him as his special Skills are needed by a man who has hunted him down, he wants Arthur to kill 3 people and make it look like an accident the problem is each mission is more dangerous and extremely difficult to execute. Arthur has no plans to help out and Even manages an escape. However his plan back fires when the Villain kidnaps his loved one. Arthur has no choice but to execute the mission in 36 hours but will he be able to do it in time and Save his Girl as well?
To Start with even though the premise is nothing out of the ordinary the Action keeps the Story alive, Director Dennis Gansel keep the Story as paces as possible but the lack of dept in Screenplay restricts his Direction. Statham is Statham Silent Masculine and deadly , he has managed to etch a unique place for himself in H town. His action is top notch although i want him to try a different style of action and get out of his comfort Zone. Jessica Alba is total waste , it’s not many times i see a movie and don’t think She looks good but this movie looks like she was just not into it.
Coming to the technical Aspects the Action has been co ordinated by legendary Vic Arm Strong and some Stunts are impressive, Allan Poppleton has done the Choreography and has made interesting use of the tools he had on hand, the local Stunt Crew of Thailand Seng Stunts has provided Adequate Support. The Editing of Todd Miller is Sharp .Producer Avi Lerner has spared no expense in making it a HVP (High Value Product)
On the whole the Mechanic Resurrection is a decent watch , with a Sharper Screenplay the film would be a winner, but it still makes for a one time theatrical watch.
