Season 9 of ‘The Walking Dead’ will see the reappearance of Jon Bernthal

Jon Bernthal’s character Shane was killed on the blockbuster AMC zombie drama, The Walking Dead, several years ago. He was killed near the end of Season 2, fatally stabbed by Rick (Andrew Lincoln). He gained critical acclaim and prominence for his portrayal of Shane Walsh. But he appeared in Season 3, haunting Rick’s imagination. Bernthal will reprise his role of Shane Walsh during the ninth season, of The Walking Dead, expected to appear in one episode. This time he may either turn up in another hallucination or in a series of pre-death flashbacks. Bernthal will also make an appearance at the Comic-Con during The Walking Dead panel in July.

Bernthal has also worked in supporting roles in various films such as The Wolf of Wall StreetFuryThe AccountantBaby Driver, Sicario and Wind River. In 2015, he was cast as Frank Castle/Punisher as part of the Netflix MCU web series. He debuted on the second season of Daredevil before starring in his own titular series The Punisher in 2017. Bernthal has recently shot the second season of Netflix’s The Punisher in New York.
