The latest acquisition is an auction for feature rights to Prince of Cats, the graphic novel written by Ron Wimberly that will be developed as a feature film. The graphic novel was originally published by DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint and now published by Image Comics.
‘80s hip-hop retelling of Shakespeare’s timeless classic Romeo & Juliet only this time with a lot more action predominantly Action. The Story follow Tybalt’s perspective as he and his Capulet crew go through a violent Brooklyn where underground sword dueling with the Montagues blossoms alongside a vibrant music and violent scene.
The film Stars Lakeith Stanfield, who just starred in Sorry To Bother You and Get Out and the script is adapted by Selwyn Sefyu Hinds.
Jon Silk brought it in to Legendary Entertainment, and is overseeing it with Ali Mendes who handles content development under Mary Parent.
No news on who’s directing is reveled but we are sure the project will attract some top talent in the industry.
