Suicide squad was panned by the critics however the film did over 400 million at the Box office and has a Sequel in the works too. However Suicide Squad is not the only thing getting a remake , The Harley Quinn film is in the works and now it has an official release date.
Cathy Yan is directing with Margot Robbie reprising her role of Quinn which was a fan favorite in the film.
The film’s story though not clear has Robbie assembling a team of superheroes including Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya, to battle an evil crime lord, who that is yet unknown.
A lot of Actors like Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jurnee Smolett-Bell, Margaret Qualley and Cristin Milioti. have been testing with Robbie to play the part. Robbie who herself suggested Yan for the film after seeing her debut you Dead Pigs is hands on the project.
Currently the Studio is looking to start principle photography in April 2019 to make the 7th feb 2020 date . The date is currently crowded as Bond 25 hits screens too that time.
Suicide Squad follows a U.S. intelligence officer who decides to assemble a team of dangerous, incarcerated supervillains for a top-secret mission. Now armed with government weapons, Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc and other despicable inmates must learn to work together. Dubbed Task Force X, the criminals unite to battle a mysterious and powerful entity, while the diabolical Joker (Jared Leto) launches an evil agenda of his own.
Directed by David Ayer the film was a hit.
